E-commerce: share of shoppers, not share of visits

Traffic estimates count visits. Retail teams need shoppers: how many people use three marketplaces, how many only yours, who left for whom after the last sales day. Omnimetra measures the audience of marketplaces, retailers and brands per country, web and app together.

The industry's question

Who shops at three marketplaces, who only at one — and which one?

What we measure

  • Share of audience per marketplace, retailer and D2C brand by country
  • Exclusive vs shared shoppers; overlap of any set of retailers
  • Switching flows and loyalty across months
  • Sales-day and launch cohorts: who came, who stayed
  • Overlap with social platforms, payment and delivery apps
  • Category-level markets from the taxonomy (fashion, electronics, grocery and more)

KPIs

  • share of shoppers
  • exclusive shoppers
  • multi-marketplace rate
  • switching flows
  • sales-day cohort retention
  • app/web split

Three scenarios

Category entry

The marketplaces and specialists that own a category's audience, their exclusive share, and the mobile-only segment.

Loyalty benchmark

The share of your shoppers who also used your two nearest competitors this month, and how it moved after the sales season.

Launch media plan

Placements by lift for a D2C launch, excluding your own properties, with the duplication between them.

Example: after the sales season

A marketplace kept 71 % of the shoppers it gained on the sales day; the two that left mostly went to one competitor with a stronger app. The retention plan targets the app-only cohort.
